Dear Folks,

Well another day has passed, Im glad of it to. I was in msg. center all after noon, I don’t like it much but it isn’t to worse.

I never got any letters to day so I won’t have to answer any, but I like to get them any how.

Well how is the little pup making it? OK I reckon.

Im armed with a carbine now. I fired the 45 pistol the other day & done OK. They have a 45 cal. sub machine gun but I missed firing it. It is a real chopper. you can almost carry it in your pocket. but Id take a good 30/30 or 250/3000 any day to all these. Id like to get more practice with the pistol but probaly won’t.

I went to a show tonight, sort of eases my mind for awhile, I sure don’t like this

Well it is bed time, A guy must sleep where ever he is. Good night

Dear Folks,

Well another day is over, Ive been in msg center all day again. It is easy work but office work & I don’t care much about it.

Well we were officially alerted for overseas tonight but probaly won’t leave here for a couple of wks. or 3.

Im sort of tired & can’t think of any thing to write. It is getting late to.

I had my bond cancelled but you should get aug. & Oct. bonds some time in the future. Im having some money sent home instead of bonds. Ill need ready cash when I get back. I hope it is in the near future, I don’t know. Well Ill singn off.

Dear Folks,

I got your letter this noon, Im always glad to hear from you.

Dad you are sure making good wages on Sun.

I got out of msg. center today, Ive got a new job now. They shake us up every other day but I believe that was the last shake up. Im put in message center as code clerk Ill get a PFC rating, that is all this dam outfit gives. All ratings are froze in the states to but they won’t be where we will soon be.

Ill sure be glad to get the candy. I hope I get it tonight.

We are out in the woods now, supposed to be having class but we are all taking it easy.

I went to a show night before last, it was OK.

Ill be glad when we get paid. It is getting close to pay day, 31, Im not broke yet.

Ive gotten 3 letters from Alvin since I got here, I think he has left Texas.

I got my carbine back with new sights on it. I would like to try it on some deer.

We are having good weather here now, I believe I could like Mo. If I was a civillian but I wouldn’t be here if I was.

Ill have to send some stuff home before long. another pair of civillian shoes I think. I don’t believe we can take them over.
